About Hero Productions AU

A strategic video agency for organisations that answer to funders, boards, and the public

Hero Productions exists because too many organisations do important work and struggle to explain what it achieved. We make videos that help them answer that question. Clearly, on time, and without overstating the results.

Strategic video production for public health, education, First Nations, and community organisations across Australia.

Based on the Gold Coast. Rooted in Darwin. Working nationally.

About Us

Hero Productions AU is a Gold Coast and Darwin video production agency serving public health, education, First Nations, and community organisations across Australia. We produce impact videos, mission videos, and outcome-focused content for organisations that must justify their work to funders, boards, and the public. Our team delivers end-to-end strategic video production, from pre-production strategy through filming, editing, and delivery, for accountability-driven environments where evidence and trust matter most.

We work across Queensland, the Northern Territory, and nationally, including regional, remote, and major city centres.

Strategy first. Production second.

Most video agencies start with a creative brief. We start with the questions your funder or board will ask when the video lands on their desk.

Before anything is filmed, we work through what you need to show, who needs to approve it, and what constraints apply. The message, evidence, and approval pathway are agreed before cameras roll. Conservative claims and what not to say are locked in upfront.

That means fewer surprises during production, fewer issues after delivery, and a final product your team can stand behind when it counts.

Our process is built for the way funded organisations actually operate: multiple approvers, tight timelines, cultural and compliance requirements, and no room for overstatement.

The team behind the work

At most agencies, the people who plan the message are not the people who film and edit it. That gap leads to miscommunication and results that miss the point. At Hero Productions, strategy and production sit in the same team.

Jax Perrin, Co-Founder

Jax leads creative direction, camera, post-production, and client engagement. Jax studied film production at Charles Darwin University and has six years of professional camera and editing experience. She directs on location, manages shoots, oversees all visual delivery, and works directly with clients throughout each project.

Jesse Ocean, Co-Founder

Jesse handles strategy, client relationships, scoping, and audio production. Jesse has more than 15 years of experience in sales and account management, studied film production at CDU alongside Jax, and holds a Diploma of Music (Sound Production). He manages all audio across Hero Productions projects, whether producing directly or bringing in specialist talent. Jesse is a member of Canada's Métis Nation with direct Cree ancestry on his mother's side. That background shapes how he approaches work with First Nations organisations and communities across diverse populations.

Hero Productions is a women-led agency with the crew and production capability to deliver projects at any scale.

From single-camera community shoots to multi-day productions requiring full crews across remote locations, we resource each project to match what the brief requires.

Gold Coast, Darwin, and nationally

Our studio is on the Gold Coast. We work with organisations across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and regional Queensland on projects ranging from health promotion campaigns to education program reporting and community engagement.

We have deep operational roots in Darwin and the Northern Territory. We lived and worked in Darwin from 2020 to 2023, building long-standing relationships with First Nations organisations, government programs, and community groups in both urban and remote contexts. We continue to deliver significant work across the NT, and that Territory experience shapes how we operate: comfort with remote logistics, cultural protocols, community governance, and the distinct requirements that come with working outside capital cities.

We also deliver projects nationally, across regional and remote Australia as well as major city centres. Travel and logistics are factored into every quote so scope is clear from the start.

Clients include public health services, education programs, First Nations organisations, and government-adjacent bodies across Queensland, the Northern Territory, and nationally.

What we do not do

We are a strategic video production agency. Everything we do sits within that scope.

We do not offer:

  • Graphic design, branding, or logo work

  • Social media management or ongoing content retainers

  • Photography as a standalone service (photos are included with video projects)

  • Event livestreaming

  • Animation or motion graphics as a standalone service

If your project sits outside video strategy and production, we are happy to point you toward someone who does it well.

Organisations we have worked with

Our work spans public health, education, First Nations, and community sectors across Queensland, the Northern Territory, and nationally.

Many of our early clients are still with us today. In sectors where trust, cultural safety, and institutional knowledge build over time, that continuity matters.

Start with a strategy call

This is a working conversation, not a pitch. We talk through what you need to show, who needs to sign off, and whether video is the right approach for your situation.

If you have existing reports, evaluations, or program evidence you want us to review beforehand, you can share them when you book. The more context we have going in, the more useful the call.
